Happy Friday!
Hope you all have some fun plans this weekend!
Today was scheduled to be my long run day. There was 16 glorious miles on plan and I had to be at work today by 7, but I got up a little late.. I hit snooze twice.. I was only able to get 5 miles in before work. After work I did 8.. It got pretty hot the last 3 miles and I shortened it a bit and was done.
I’m finally feeling a little bit better today. My voice is back and I felt good enough to run! I kept a nice and easy pace and focused my run on my heart rate. I finished 8 miles in 1:12. In the heat… I’ll take it!
After the run I had to take my car in for a bunch of crap.
- Windshield fixed.
- Oil change.
- Transmission fluid
- Alignment.
- Safety and emissions..
Blah, Blah, Blah.
$2,973,859 later, I was on my way. -> Yes, that is completely exaggerated.
Paying for car stuff is not my favorite.
There was a Womens Health Magazine in the waiting room so I started flipping through it and found some tips on pull ups/chin ups.
I use to think that this may have been a good progression to a unassisted chin-up.
My boss explained to me the danger of it. It is pretty obvious and I never looked at it that way before.
When you hook a band under your feet/knees your stretching a HUGE band 4-6+ feet! So, if that sucker were to pop off your foot/knee how are you planning on protecting your face if your hands are holding onto a bar.
Another thing is that people get dependent on the band and use it a lot longer then if they were to bag the band and gain strength using a different method.
Not a great tip. There were some other good tips in the magazine though! Even some we do at GPP that are much safer then stretching a giant band and taking yourself out!
Here are some good progressions to get that chin up! From gppfitness.com
You might recognize this chick!
Lunch was kind of in parts today..
While my chicken and veggies were cooking a ate a baked sweet potato with some nuttzo.
With a kid spoon.
I’m that classy.
I put the rest of my meal on a plate though, check it.
{P.S Eating off a plate is rare. Tupperware is easier..Heat and eat! }
Little blurry but it is nothing fancy, just chicken, onions and green beans. Sprinkled with Mrs. Dash. Onion and Herb. ----> My fave!
We have plans to go to a friends wedding reception tonight! I can’t wait!
Off to get the kiddos ready and all that jazz. Maybe I will shower too.
Car stuff is mandatory in life but anyone feel like you get ripped off sometimes??
What are your plans for the weekend?
