How To Do Burpees While Pregnant

Happy Monday!

I hope your week is off to a great start!

Yesterday was a pretty chill day for us. We hung out and watched a LOT of football, did the church thing, and made a few desserts that.. well, didn’t quite turn out.

I found my new favorite snack and I’m sure I’ll eat this everyday until peaches are out of season.

Cottage cheese + Peaches.

We made it outdoors just in time to watch the sunset while riding bikes (Brent and I walking quickly behind them.) on the boulevard.

I was really wanting to make PB bars for dessert yesterday and found this recipe and went to the store to grab everything I needed for them. They probably would of turned out better if I would of not of used cane sugar instead of confectioners sugar… oops. Can I blame pregnant brain on that one? They turned out really gritty… if you like to eat spoon fulls of sugar then I suggest doing what I did.

At least they looked good before we cut into them..

My second attempt was chocolate chip cookies. HOW could I mess those up?

I promise I followed the recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag perfectly.. but they still turned out like crap. They tasted good so I guess that’s okay. But not presentable to the friend who just ran 100 miles that I wanted to take them too.

Oh well.

Brent did get the dresser in the babies room while I was goofing off in the kitchen. Now, all I have left to do is hang up a few pictures and shelves and babies room will be complete!

This morning, I headed to GPP to coach a few morning classes and get my workout done for the day. This workout has 150 burpees in it! I like this workout and it is actually one of my favorites. I’m coming in on 37 weeks pregnant and it is hard to just roll out of bed, let alone do a burpee so I modified the workout by cutting the burpees in half. I also did not attempt to do a v-up and subbed this outer thigh lift instead. Everything else I did as RX.

I had someone email me and ask how I do burpees pregnant. I still get down on the floor and jump back up. I did chest to the floor burpees up until my 2nd trimester but since the bump got a little out there I have been doing strict pushups from my knees. Like so..

My four year old took this pic.. not the best quality or angle, but I’m not exactly sure I actually have a good angle right now.

I have also done them by putting my hands on a box with a strict push up, which also can be modified to a kneeling pushup. Whichever way feels best for you.

I had a protein shake afterward when I got home that hit the spot! Whenever I have something cold it wakes the baby right up and he or she pushes and rolls all around. I love it!

In the mix I used

  • 1 Cup Vanilla Almond Milk Unsweetened (Silk)
  • 1 scoop Iso-100 Gourmet Chocolate -> My Favorite!
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 1 cup of frozen Kirkland Berries
  • 2 Tbs. Bobs Red Mill Ground Flax Seed
  • Ice. + a little water to get things movin.

I am working on getting a pregnancy tab up at the top of my blog, which will include a bit more about my journey or should I say attempt through a fit pregnancy.

Now it is time to get the kiddos ready for their second week of preschool!
