Pie Burn and a Bement Thanksgiving

Yesterday was a beautiful day. Time spent with friends and family. I couldn’t of asked for anything better!

I started off thanksgiving by heading to GPP to get a little Pie Sweat on!

I made a little egg mcmuffin on my way out the door. I toasted a cinnamon raisin Ezekiel muffin with coconut oil and had a few egg whites sprinkled with cinnamon on top!

Perfect pre workout fuel!

We had an amazing turnout yesterday at the gym! It was a riot to coach everyone at the same time and with all the trainers together!

We did THIS workout, and lets just say those 200 burpees were really “fun”!

Here are a few of the gals with our Turkey hats!

OH turkey Tom hat is a crowd pleaser.

Here is the whole group!

These people are amazing! I’m inspired daily by each and every one of them. I am grateful for a job that I love and for the support from my fit fam.

After Party #1 I headed home to prep for party #2! I whipped up some rolls and headed to Brents Dads house for Thanksgiving! We didn’t have the whole family together, just two out of the 6 families were able to make it, they were missed! It was kind of nice though! It wasn’t nearly as hectic as usual and we got to visit with others a little more.

My Step MIL prepped all the food and did a wonderful job!

My grandma always makes her sweet potato casserole with marshmallows on top, so having this dish made me feel like I was at home.

Here is a video that Brent put together that includes a little more of our thanksgiving. I tried to insert it into the post but it wouldn’t let me.

We spent the night decorating for Christmas! I started stringing the lights and may of ran out at the top… womp, womp! I’ll go pick up some more Saturday!

The twins loved helping decorating the tree! Which was fantastic because in years past they enjoyed destroying it a little more! Ha!

I was planning on going Black Friday shopping but got a stye in my eye yesterday morning and really needed some extra sleep, so I headed to bed instead! Which I was really bummed about! I love black friday shopping, Not really on the hunt for anything in particular this year so I decided it would be better to get some extra shut eye!

Did you go Black Friday Shopping?

Tell me about your Thanksgiving! Bloggers feel free to link up your Thanksgiving post to comments!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have so much to be thankful for, I couldn’t even begin to put it all into words.

My family is everything to me. I give thanks for them every day. I’m grateful for them, and their giving and joyful personalities. I’m grateful for my job. As a mom, trainer and instructor. I’m grateful for my health and strength. I’m grateful for my faith and all that it brings into my life.

My heart is full during this time of year. There truly is so much GOOD in the world.

Be Thankful.

I asked Tanner what he is thankful for, he replied by saying, “My Cars and Planes.” - Bet you didn’t see that one coming.

DSC_0063

We asked Baylee the same question, she replied by saying, “My barbies and my cousins, OH! and Mom!”

My heart melted. Smile

I am thankful for this guy, I don’t tell him enough how much I appreciate him in my life, and I seriously couldn’t of picked a better guy. He is amazing.

Done and Done!

Happy Thanksgiving EVE! Hope you guys had a great day! This morning my alarm went off far to early…

Ps. My clock is 5 minutes fast… anyone else set their clocks faster to ensure they will be on time??

I headed to work for the morning. I love my job, but waking up after a late night was rough!

I got stuff done and snacked on a Think Thin Creamy Peanut Butter bar, before heading to coach and do the workout with my City Creek crew!

IMG_9107[1]

I loved todays workout!

I picked the kids up from preschool and came home for a nap, and the afternoon kind of got away from all of us, just hanging out around the house.

Brent was taking his very LAST CPA test!!! YAY!!! I was nervous for him, but he is practically a genius so I wasn’t to worried. The test took him about 3 1/2 hours and he is now, officially DONE with school!!

Bachelors, Masters in accounting and now a CPA!

I’m so proud of him and everything he does! I’m even more excited he doesn’t ever have to study ever again!

We went to Tucanos for dinner to celebrate with some of his family members! It was a pretty eventful dinner.. Lets just say, two THREE year olds with tongs, and sharp knifes within arm distance and being packed around a small round table do not mix..

They had fun though! I guess that is all that matters!

I loaded up my salad plate with every type of salad, veggies, mozzarella balls and strangely enough.. quail eggs. Ps. I’m not a fan of those.. they were kind of rubbery.. Ew.

IMG_9113[1]

All the meat was fantastic, but of course my favorite is the pineapple!

IMG_9115[1]

Yes. Please!

Now, it’s time for bed!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we are doing a big workout tomorrow at GPP! It is going to be a riot! I can’t wait!

What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

What is your favorite fruit?

Thanksgiving Tips and Recipes and W.Y.A?

My friend posted this survey on Facebook last night and thought it would be fun to do.

Come to find out I have a blue aura.

Personality: Blue’s are very loyal and can be the truest friend any aura could hope to find. On the inside, blues tend to be emotional and even a bit moody. However, you know that other auras depend on you, so you put on a strong front. They tend to live a quiet but enriching life. Blues are very giving of them and is hard to let go of relationships. They believe the key to living a good life is simple: Be as honest with yourselves and others as possible. They value the truth over everything else.Blue will remain loyal to those who are honest with them, even if their honesty hurts. Compared to most other auras, blues handle the truth very well. They take every event into stride. Blues are the calm spot in a sea of chaos. They think that the solution to most problems is open communication; they wish that people would be more real with each other. A Blue personality uses its five physical senses to access information. An emotionally driven personality, you need to be liked and accepted. It is one of the "needs" that can cause apprehension in your personality. You are a polite, cooperative person who seeks to create conflict-free surroundings. You possess highly developed powers of observation. Family is important to you and you sometimes find yourself in the role of being a caretaker. You are conservative, reliable and trustworthy - you are quite trusting of others although you are very wary in the beginning until you are sure of the other person. You are not impulsive- you always think before you speak and act and do everything at your own pace in your own time. You take time to process and share your feelings. You are genuine and sincere, and you take your responsibilities seriously. You have a deep need for peace and harmony in your everyday life. You appear to be confident and self-controlled, but may be hiding your vulnerable side. You are generally fairly even-tempered, unless your emotions take over - then you can become either moody and over-emotional, or cool and indifferent. You are sensitive to the needs of others. While you are friendly and sociable, you prefer the company of your own close group of friends. You are a rescuer and love to be needed. You can be rigid - you like to stick to what is familiar to you- you stubbornly do things your way even if there is a better way. Untidiness and unpredictability overwhelm you. You don't like to draw attention to yourself. While you don't like to have discord or conflict in your life, you are often the cause of conflict with others; you can be quite manipulative but in a very subtle way.
You make a loyal and faithful marriage partner and you are an honest, trustworthy and sincere friend. You are aware of others feelings and sensitive to the moods of others. You are approachable and friendly, always making people feel welcome in your life. You have a thirst for knowledge in order to gain wisdom and appear knowledgeable in whatever area interests you. You can be too cautious and worry about every little thing.

Yep.. Pretty much me to a capital T!

What is your aura? (W.Y.A?)

Thanksgiving is THIS week!!! Holy cow that came fast!!

Here are some of my favorite tips to stay IN check that day!

Thanksgiving tips to stick to!

1. Eat Breakfast, and a small lunch. Depending on what time you are starting your thanksgiving feast. My point here is don’t starve yourself until you sit down to the turkey! Have a healthy breakfast and lunch before you go. Starving yourself will just lead to you eating even more calories overall then if you would of just had a healthy balanced meal.

2. Pack on the protein, then the veggies! Leave grandmas buttery mashed potatoes for last. This will help you get more of the good stuff without completely restricting it. You only get the good stuff once a year right?

3. Use a smaller plate- Go for the kid size! This may backfire and you just go back for 3rds and 4ths instead of just 2nds but it could work, if you easily get caught up in conversation and just have enough time to gobble up what you had on your kid size plate.

4. Get active! Plan on a workout sometime in the day. There are several “Turkey Trots” going on and you could find one local. Some gyms do a special “Turkey workout” in fact all 3 gyms I workout at are planning on one so scope out your local gyms for something fun! Even a friendly family football game post turkey eating will get you up and movin’!

5. Bring a healthy dish! You know what… sometimes I get absolutely RAILED for bringing a “healthy” option to share. Someone always will comment on it, make fun or whatever. But the funny thing is, is that the healthier options are the first ones gone! ---Imagine that?

Here are a few favorites from last year!

Cranberry Biscuits

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Simple Sweet Potatoes!

Last and foremost. Just enjoy yourself, enjoy being with those you love and don’t ever regret it.

A Date Night and Cinna Bun Pancakes

Yesterday, I went to half of a body combat class and taught a killer Body Pump class.

After my workout I headed to the what a women wants expo with my SIL and my sisters! I didn’t get a group photo but we spent two hours walking around and checking out a bunch of cute, leggings, jewelry, and homemade products.

IMG_9054[1]

I scored some cute necklaces for a great deal and a bracelet I have been lusting after online for awhile. I have been loving the chunky necklace look, I have always been a simple jewlery person, if any. I finally realize if I’m going to get out of spandex sometime, I should probably attempt to show a little classWinking smile

IMG_9081[1]

My hand made a weird shadow in the picture… I love all the blue!

On the way home my SIL and I stopped at Lulu and I snagged these run day crops in all black. I love the high waistband and all my running crops require the zipper in the back! I keep my candy there..Winking smile

They even have zippers on the side down by your ankle that have a little ruffle on them which add a little somethin but have no purpose at all. Ha!

I also got the fluff off coat in black

When I got home from shopping Brent took me out for a date! We don’t get these very often so we enjoy it when we can! A friend in my neighborhood watched the twins for us while we went out to dinner!

We were going to go to Tucanos but when we arrived we were told it was a two hour wait! No thanks, we opted out and headed to California Pizza Kitchen!

We were served some sourdough bread for a little appetizer.

Then I ordered the Roasted Veggie Salad with Grilled Chicken! I loved this salad and would recommend it to anyone! I only got a half and it was just enough! I was starving too from shopping all day!

IMG_9059[1]

While we were eating, Tara ended up there at the same time!

IMG_9060[1]

It was a great dinner with my favorite guy. We shopped around the mall for a little bit before heading home and ending the night by watching Zoolander. We both LOVE that movie and laugh every time at “blue steel.”

This morning I felt like making some protein pancakes!

Green Cinna Bun Pancakes

DSC_0335

  • ¼ t baking powder
  • 1 scoop cinnamon bun protein (You can use vanilla whey also)

Directions:

Throw everything into blender and blend and pour onto hot skillet.

Done!

DSC_0337

After breakfast I headed to the gym (I know.. Sunday is usually my rest day but I needed it..)

I listened to a few old General Conference talks and did an EASY 5 miles nice and easy. It was actually pretty relaxing to just fall into a comfortable pace and listen. Lately, I have been listening to a talk each day, but usually get distracted at home. I loved it!! I used to listen to books while training for my long runs and forgot how much I liked that!

After my run I made some chocolate protein oatmeal. All it is, is oats and one scoop of protein. Simple and easy and the perfect carb/protein ratio for recovery.

IMG_9067[1]

Looks like crap. I love it.

We walked to church today.. It was a little cold..

IMG_9078[1]

But I got to wear one of my new necklaces and even curled my hair.

IMG_9072[1]

Sometimes I get ready..

Wow, this post was long.. if you stuck around I applaud you.

Before I sign off for the night can we talk about one thing?

IMG_9084[1]

Miley.. what the cat?!

What was your longest run this week?

Do you like cats?

Fave things Friday

Thank you for all the positive feedback on the workout! Glad you guys liked it!! You are the coolest.

Yesterday for lunch I had  some mahi mahi, green beans and sweet potato. I also snacked on a apple while my fish was cooking. Anyone else eat while their food is cooking? I ALWAYS do.. I guess I’m a little inpatient.. or starving..

While I was doing some work Tanner decided to come hang out with me. These are my favorite moments.. He loves to take pictures of himself but not when I try to take a picture of him. He is most likely a blur every time I try.

IMG_9029[1]

Yesterday, I had my last kids class for awhile. I’m going to miss these kids. Coaching them has been so fun and they are tough! Teaching and watching them achieve certain skills is amazing! Several of them got their kips and even double unders and handstand pushups! Most importantly, they have fun while doing it!

IMG_9031[1]

These kids rock!

My workout today was GPP and Body Combat, along with 3 miles on the treadmill.

Fave Things Friday

Here a few of my favorite things this week!

Shiny Lip Gloss from Victoria Secret. It is actually addicting. I love the look on my lips and it last longer then some others. You can tell it has been my favorite for awhile.. I am squeezing every drop out!

My new purse! I got this purse from Fancy Frills Boutique!! It has several pockets on the inside and one on the outside. Very classy, cute and professional.

Also, goes great with spandex.

These Wunder Unders. I got them from Lulu a few years ago? But they are my favorite crops in the winter. They are thicker and so soft and cozy!

What is one of your favorite things lately?
