Hello Hungry Mother Runner readers!
Before I get started, I want to give Candice, Brent, and the twins, Baylee and Tanner, a huge congrats on the new addition to their family, Roen!
Candice is like a sister to me, so it feels like I have a new nephew! I can’t wait to meet him! Hopefully I can make my way to Utah sometime soon!
I will be guest posting for Candice today so she can have more time with her little one and continue being one of the best Moms I know of <3
So, let me introduce myself!
My name is Meg and I am the voice behind my blog, A Dash of Meg. If you don’t know anything about me, feel free to read my About page on my blog, but in a nutshell…
I’m a Registered Holistic Nutritionist with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition.
In addition to helping people reach their health goals through a holistic approach, my other passions and loves are spending time with family, travel, cooking, and lifting weights.
Last time I visited Candice, I was attending the GPP Fitness certification workshop. I thoroughly love GPP Fitness workouts, but lately I’ve been following an upper/lower body split that consists of four training days each week, two upper body and two lower body.
I recently wrote myself a new workout program that I will be following for the next 6 - 8 weeks and want to share one of the four workouts in my program with you today!
Since deadlift day is my favourite training day of the week, I will share my deadlift workout with you J
Lower Body B Workout/Deadlift Day
1) Box jumps 5 x 5
2) Conventional deadlifts 5 x 3 - 6
3) Good mornings 4 x 8 - 12
4A) Single leg leg press 4 x 8 - 12
4B) Reverse crunch 4 x 15 - 20
5) Barbell hip thrusts 4 x 8 - 12
6) Treadmill pushes 8 x 15 seconds on/30 seconds off
I did this workout yesterday and it was my first time doing good mornings in a while and my hamstrings were on fire! It felt so good!
I will be sharing the rest of my training program on my blog later this week! So, if you’re interested in seeing the other three workouts I do throughout the week check out my blog!
Keep in touch!
