Happy Monday! I hope you guys are off to a great start! I love Mondays simply because they are a refresher for a new training week.
This is the week I start TRAINING for my races. SWIM,BIKE, RUN! I have a few races coming up and I am excited to get in a training routine. I am not the girl that can pop out a baby and run a marathon. It is starting from square one and rebuilding. I have been working on establishing a base lately but mostly on the treadmill. I haven’t been in a pool since I was 8 months pregnant with Roen so this should be interesting.
I also am still nursing Roen who is almost 5 months (in a week!) and when I amp up my training I start to lose milk so I have to be sure to DRINK a ton and get enough calories so we are going to see how this first week goes!
My races so far include Half Marathon, Relays, Half Ironman.. eek. and a few other tris. I thrive off of routine and when I am training for something specific, it is more motivating for me to get the work DONE!
WEEKEND HAPPENINGS
This weekend was great! Brent and I got some time together on Saturday night and went out for Sushi at Mikado’s and went shopping at Lulu and I snagged a few new tops. (My husband really must love me!) Ha! FYI: New workout clothes are another workout motivator for me!
I got the Chepitos roll, which I am obsessed with thanks to my friend Ashley. it is Tuna, crab, avocado and asparagus. Brent got the Bento plate with chicken, tempura shrimp and veggies. We shared a side salad and angry edamame -> Which is seasoned with some chili powder concoction instead of salt.
Saturday morning I made it to the gym an hour before my Body Pump class started, and got a good hour run in before teaching, I made it 7.25 miles then taught pump and spent 45 minutes on a spin bike. I had oatmeal with strawberries and eggs before and then brought 2 clementines with me and a protein drink to fuel me through that chaos.
Sunday I got all ready and headed to church! I got a new necklace from Simply Reese! I love it but learned quickly that Roen likes to play with it while nursing and it kind of messes it up a bit..
This is what it looks like…
AND this is what happens when you wear it while nursing.
I love pearls and these add the perfect touch of elegance to my outfit. I think it would go great with a statement tee as well!
The rest of the Sunday was spent just hanging out with the kiddos. We did really active things like walked to church, ate popcorn, practiced some sort of acro yoga and took naps. -> yes, that’s plural.
Rest days are the best days.
I usually don’t post on Saturdays but I am going to start posting my weekly training schedule in review at the end of each week. I’m doing it to keep me accountable and show the ups and downs of training/racing with littles. I’ll make it as interesting as possible.
Have a good week!
What is ONE thing you are looking forward to this week?
